About Me
Hi there! My name is Brittney. I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist and a trauma survivor. Throughout my life and my education I have worked hard to not only understand more about myself but also others. I have found writing to be a valuable way for me to learn and also process and create new connections in my brain and body. I am passionate about mental health and trauma informed care and someday would love to release a memoir I have been writing about my life and my work. This blog is a step in the direction of making that a reality for me and I hope it can also serve as a healing space for others. I’m really happy you’re here :)
Why this blog exists
It all started with my idea to write a memoir about my life. As I started to write about my life I realized that I was able to not only learn more about myself and my trauma but I was also able to process the things that have happened to me. Through that process I was also able to learn more about why I am the way I am, what things comprise my personhood today and also the things that bring me joy. I am bringing my writing to this space to share my thoughts in a more concrete way. To continue to heal myself and also to hopefully help others do the same.
